Have you used different products and techniques and have been less than satisfied with the results?
Taking care of your wavy, curly, coily hair can seem overwhelming. Each person’s hair has unique characteristics (such as curl pattern, density, porosity, and width) that affect its behavior and reaction to products.
Knowing the specifics of your hair will help take out the guesswork and can serve as a blueprint for figuring out which Bounce Curl products to use.

Wavy Hair
Caring for curly and wavy hair starts in the shower. We recommend beginning with our sulfate-free clarifying shampoo that will not strip your hair of its natural oils. It will help to thoroughly cleanse and lightly moisturize your hair while adding volume.
Follow up with our protein-free conditioner that will help to lightly hydrate your hair.
If you're new to our products, it's best to first use our Turmeric Hair Detox Mask to remove any build-up from previous conditioners.
Use the conditioner after the mask; it won't leave your hair feeling heavy or cause additional build-up.
Using heavy creams for wavy textures can weigh your hair down. Our Moisture Balance leave-in conditioner and Clump & Define cream are both ultra-concentrated that will help define your waves and help alleviate frizz, yet they will not weigh your hair down.
Use a small amount of product to achieve your desired look - too much may give an undesirable outcome.
Our Clump & Define cream provides a light hold while our leave-in conditioner has no hold, so you can choose depending on your preference.
A lot of people like to add our light creme gel on top of our clump & define cream for a medium hold, and on top of our leave in conditioner for a light hold.
If leave-ins and creams haven't worked for your hair in the past, give our light creme gel a try. You'll may notice your hair feeling weightless after using it, with reduced frizz, and more curl definition. We can't say it will work miracles, but many curlies are loving the results!
Wavy hair can have more volume than straight hair, but it can fall flat. Try our alcohol-free hairspray. Used in the right amount, it will help give the proper hold without having to use a lot of product.

Curly Hair
Because curly hair has more twists and bends than straight hair, it doesn't allow the natural oils from your scalp to travel down the strands. This often leads to tangles, breakage, dryness, and frizz.
Depending on how much moisture your curls need, our clarifying shampoo, medium moisture shampoo, or cleansing conditioner will all work to help cleanse your hair. Follow up with our conditioner for TLC.
We suggest that new users try our Turmeric Hair Detox Mask to get rid of any previous product build-up.
Then, depending on the density of your curls, you can use either the leave-in conditioner and layer with the curl clump & define cream (or not), then finish with the gel.

Coily Hair
This curl type is also called “kinky” or tightly coiled hair. The wiry strands may have a zigzag pattern or show no pattern at all.
The tight curls and kinky texture of this hair type make it almost impossible for the sebum (natural scalp oil) to travel and coat the whole strand, making it the most fragile of all hair curl types.
As a result, those with coily hair must take extra measures to ensure their hair is moisturized and protected at all times.
Since moisture is key. Start with our shampoo, medium moisture shampoo, or protein-free cleansing conditioner.
Follow up with our conditioner, as needed. If you are new to our product line, we recommend starting with the Turmeric Hair Detox Mask. This will ensure that all previous build-up is removed before trying out our other products.
We frequently confuse dry hair with damaged hair, and our natural response to the "suspected" damage is to use a protein treatment or product. However, in most cases the latter wasn't actually needed because the issue was simply that the former was dry.

Not only is it important to moisturize your hair, but you should also take steps to ensure that the moisture is locked in.
The best moisturizers are water-based with a great mix of various ingredients such as emollients, lipids, and oils, which can be found in our leave-in conditioner and clump & define cream.
Gels are a fantastic way to help your curls hair last for a long time. However, you need to be careful not to use too much gel as it can leave your hair feeling crunchy.
If you find that our gel is doesn't work for your hair and it doesn't react well, then we suggest using either our leave-in conditioner or clump & define cream instead. These products are both protein-free and will have a more positive effect on your hair.
If your hair needs the highest level of moisture, then our Defining Butta is the perfect product for you.
It is infused with oils to help reduce frizz and seal in moisture. It will also help to improve the elasticity of hair and shine.
This 2 in 1 moisturizing Defining Butta can be used for wash & go’s or twist outs, and is specifically made for type 4a-4c hair or thick hair.
What is the Health and Porosity of Your Hair?
Porosity ranges from low to high, depending on the health of the cuticle. If you're just starting out on your journey to healthy hair, then moisturizing curly hair is key!
If you have to put moisturizer in your hair multiple times a day, there might be a porosity problem.
Low porosity hair has cuticle layers that lay flat, which can make it difficult for moisture to penetrate. Avoid applying too much product to low porosity hair, as this can weigh down the cuticles and cause build-up.
Low porosity hair
If you have low porosity hair, our clarifying shampoo is perfect for you because build-up is a common issue.
Our conditioner is the perfect complement to our shampoo, as it helps to lightly hydrate your hair, making it more manageable.
To style your hair, you can use either the leave-in conditioner or clump & define cream.
Keep in mind; you may want to stay away from protein-heavy treatments/products since protein (unless you know your hair is lacking protein) tends to sit on top of low porosity strands, and can cause them to feel more brittle.
Keep in mind that protein-heavy treatments and products may not be the best for your low porosity hair. If you use too much protein at once, your low porosity strands may feel more brittle.
High porosity hair
High porosity hair can be genetic or caused by various styling treatments, such as straightening, bleaching, UV damage, and other chemical processes.
Conditions like this can damage your cuticles, causing them to lift or break off. This creates gaps along the hair shaft, which makes your hair more porous and therefore damaged.
To help nourish, moisturize, and repair porous hair, our medium moisture shampoo, will help hydrate your hair, while the plant extracts will help restore it.
The shampoo is also infused with oils to help reduce frizz and smooth down the cuticles. Be sure to follow up with our conditioner for optimal results.
After conditioning, use either our leave in conditioner, which is designed to deeply nourish and strengthen the hair strands and/or use the clump & define cream.
Finally, add our gel to help define and hold curls.
Is your hair color-treated?
Our products are all safe to use on color-treated hair. If your hair has undergone any chemical processing, this can change the structure of your hair and make it more prone to damage and breakage.
Our medium moisture shampoo is formulated with plant extracts that will help restore your hair and give it the extra moisture it needs.
Follow up with our conditioner for added moisture. Our leave-in conditioner can be applied as a primer underneath any hair product to achieve moisture balance and daily protection.
Our clump & define cream will help replenish and support the cuticle layer to prevent moisture loss.
Even though we all have different hair types, we can probably all agree that we put our hair through a lot.
Because of the fluctuating weather, heat styling, and sun damage, it seems like split ends and breakage are always lurking. That's where a deep conditioner can come in to save the day.
Our Ayurvedic Deep Conditioner will help give dry and damaged hair an extra boost of hydration, restoring moisture without weighing the hair down.
It is enriched with traditional Indian herbs and oils along with natural emollients and hydrating extracts.
And, it’s protein-free! It is a multi-tasking product that acts as an instant conditioner and deep conditioner.
Let this product work its deep conditioning magic, and voila — you'll be ready to rock your crowning glory for days!
So give your hair the love and care it deserves, with a little help from us!
