Bounce Curl Adds New Chemist!

I just employed an additional chemist! Guess what? She’s from India. 😍 She has over 18 years experience as a chemist & she specializes in the principles of Ayurveda: a system of medicine that originated in India 5,000 years ago 🌱🌿. I never thought in a million years that I would be doing this in my 20s. This is a huge deal for me.

This announcement is super special to me; during these past couple years, I ended up being too busy, which then took a lot of time away from my personal life. I helped 6 different women create businesses in the beauty industry & I definitely overloaded myself. Going forward, I plan to invest in more people. (We are not taking any more people at the moment). I’m so excited about this & I can’t wait to produce amazing & more natural based products for you all!

What is Ayurveda? --Shilpi Jain, Chemist, Bounce Curl
Ayurveda is a 5000-year-old system of medicine that originated in India. It translates simply to "The Science or Knowledge of Life". According to Ayurveda, our thoughts, the food we eat, the environment we live in, the people we interact with - all affect our health. Ayurveda looks at health from a 360 degree view - unlike western medicine where perfect health is usually considered to be the absence of disease; an Ayurvedic doctor would ask you several questions geared towards your lifestyle because perfect health is a balance of our mind, body and thoughts. I practice this philosophy in life and extend it to our largest organ - the Skin. Being of Indian origin but raised in Canada, I have been exposed to this traditional medicine from an early age where my mom would make concoctions of turmeric and chickpea flour infused with pure rose water as a face mask. It was imperative that I include my deep knowledge in Medicinal Chemistry, along with 18 years in cosmetics and pharmaceutical formulations backed by this ancient yet very relevant science (which is much needed now when stress is the number one killer), in the the work I do today.
